World Partnership Walk Kitchener-Waterloo

We are Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC), an international development organization and registered charity.

Working in Africa and Asia, we tackle poverty on many fronts: building strong, resilient communities and local institutions. Funds raised through World Partnership Walk go directly to support AKFC’s development programs in Africa and Asia— initiatives that improve access to quality education and health, increase food security, create economic opportunities and help millions of people unlock their potential to build a better life.

Summer Concert Series

Date: June 24, 2018

Location: Waterloo Park, Waterloo, Ontario

Come to the bandshell on the west side of Waterloo Park for live performances presented by the Waterloo Concert Band all summer long.

Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music! Free admission. Access off of Westmount Road.

All concerts start at 7:00pm. June 24 will feature the Waterloo Concert Band.

The Waterloo Concert Band was created in 1858 to service the growing community of Waterloo's need for music. As a non-profit, charitable organization, it has grown from its roots into a 30-piece ensemble.

Artist in Residence: Word Walk Along the Trails

Location: Waterloo Park, Waterloo, ON

The City of Waterloo is pleased to announce Denise St Marie and Timothy Walker of St Marie φ Walker as the 2018 Artist in Residence. Denise St Marie and Timothy Walker are collaborative artists who create experiences that explore themes of shared spaces, perception, value, language, dialogue, and social relations.


This year's residency will take place in Waterloo Park to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the park. Hands-on workshops, word walks, storytelling activities, word treasure hunts, and activities will take place throughout the summer in different locations in the park from June to September.


The Artists in Residence will take participants on a structured "word walk" that runs through the basics of writing reflective aphorisms. The word walk looks to combine activity and prose with a variety of themes so as to guide people through the process with ease.


Location: West gazebo overlooking the bandshell
Times walks leave: 10am, 12pm, & 2pm

Final Fridays

Final Fridays showcases art, culture, and cuisine of Uptown Waterloo on the last Friday of each month.

Activities and events include exhibit openings, performances, community art, demonstrations, artist talks and readings, as well as dinner, drinks and specials at restaurants. With so many activities, you'’ll never have a reason to leave Uptown!

Acoustic Noon

Love live outdoor performances? Bring your friends and a brown bag lunch for weekly acoustic concerts every Friday from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. in Waterloo Public Square!

June 29 will feature the sounds of Dave Neigh.

Dave Neigh is a fiddler committed to playing authentic traditional folk music. He specializes in both Celtic and string band blues music and has performed at concert venues, weddings, and other events all across North America.

Artist in Residence: Weaving Words Together

The Artists in Residence will invite park goers to drop in as they construct a temporary sculpture by weaving a poetic aphorism into the fencing during Canada Day.

Depth Training Outdoor Bootcamp!

Depth Training is hosting 1 hour fitness bootcamp for the public and our members in support of the Waterloo Food bank! Admission cost is 2 canned goods/non perishable food items.

Come prepared with appropriate footwear and attire, and some water! Everyone is welcome - we'll have something to do for all ages and fitness levels. Come to the field by the Young St entrance (close to the water park) 10 minutes early to sign a waiver and be present for warm ups!
